Is This the First Step To An MMA Senior Tour?

Is This the First Step To An MMA Senior Tour?

….
TheGARV: Looking at the UFC today, there’s a fighter, Roy Nelson. Does he remind you of anyone? He’s not exactly the most chiseled fighter out there.
Ferrozzo: Well I think that as long a guy’s got a jaw and he wants to train hard and he’s able to train. See, that’s the thing, I never had an athletic body. But I train hard. I mean, I went 18 minutes with Tank. I know it’s a fight and I take it seriously. I’m not going to show up the day before and say let’s get it on. I take it very seriously. And if I prepare for Tank I’m going to put a team back together. We’re going to train for 60 days, twice a day. When I walk into the ring I’ll be able to do a 20 minute fight.
TheGARV: You said that you got into the UFC for one reason, to beat Tank Abbott.
Ferrozzo: Exactly. When I first saw him in Buffalo I wanted to go kick his ass because he was in the crowd. I was told that if I touched the guy I would never fight in the UFC. It took a couple years to get there but that night I fought him, it was fate.
TheGARV:…

Should the UFC Pay Their Fighters More?

Should the UFC Pay Their Fighters More? a.k.a. The Great Salary Debate - Do You Care?

…of pro boxers have other full time jobs to support themselves. The avg boxing salary is 10k a fight, but on the way up in the ranks is approx 100 per scheduled round. Now an undercard fighter on an HBO show may get 30k, but we are taking an avg here.Lets get even more into this, teachers here in America teach and mold our children to be better people and obviously to succeed so they can go out into the world and be successful. I personally believe teachers to be one of the most important jobs in the world, do you know what the avg. teacher makes? Between 30-40k a year. So someone like Rich Franklin who is arguably (or was) one of the UFC’s stars is making about 10x as much as he was when he was a teacher. HMMM, kinda weird. Cops? Probably one of the other more important jobs in our country today, they risk their lives to keep us safe. The avg police salary is just over 49k per year.Comparing UFC pay to that of the big 3 in pro sports is kinda dumb, but again it’s all relative. Yes, your superstars are making…

UFC: Will Dana White bring back Tim Sylvia

…is also currently enjoying a much deserved three fight win streak.
When interviewed recently by sbnation.com Sylvia stated that he wasn’t totally prepared to become the UFC champion when it happened at UFC 41, on Feb. 28, 2003, however, the “Maine-iac” stated that he made the best of the opportunity.
“I wasn’t ready for it, but it happened. It was like ‘I just got in the UFC and already I’m getting a title shot?’ I was thinking I’d work my way up, fight a few guys first before I got a title shot. But I was hand picked. Ricco (Rodriguez) picked me because he thought he could beat me and retain his title. And the UFC thought he was going to be the next big thing. We took the fight knowing that we had a good shot at beating this guy. And low and behold-it happened. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. After that fight I’ve never worked a single day at a job ever again. You know? It set me up for the rest of my life and made training full time a lot easier,” said Sylvia.
When asked his opinion regarding the UFC…

UFC 119: " Hannibal Rising " Ryan Darth Bader Vs. "Little No

UFC Dream WEC Strikeforce MMA news workouts tips predictions ring girls fighters wallpapers and more

…Ryan “Darth” Bader, 11-0, has been literally “devouring” opponents on his way up the ladder of The Ultimate Fighting Championships 205 lb weight division since 2008, when he won The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Season 8 competition by stopping Vinny Magalhaes at the ‘08 TUF Finale show.
Magalhaes was merely the appetizer however, as Bader then went on to further consume the main course, which consisted of Carmelo Marrero and Eric Schafer at UFC ” Fight Night,” and UFC 104 respectively.
Bader’s biggest win so far however, came for the undefeated 27 yr. old fighter when he traveled to the” land-down-under,” Sydney Australia, where he knocked out the durable kick boxer, and recently UFC exiled, Keith Jardine at UFC 110.
It was a picture perfect combination from Bader, who first wobbled the “Dean Of Mean” with a head snapping left jab which knocked Jardine backwards against the octagon wall,…

UFC 119: Nogueira is out, CroCop Filipovic Vs. Frank Mir

UFC Dream WEC Strikeforce MMA news workouts tips predictions ring girls fighters wallpapers and more

…remarkably however, the victory’s which Mir owns, are indeed great ones.
Mir proved just how lethal his Brazilian Jui Jitsu skills are by performing a perfectly executed knee-bar submission on the current heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, at UFC 81 in 2008.
In his very next fight, at UFC 92, in Dec 2008, he knocked out Big Nog Nogueira to win the UFC interim heavyweight championship, which he eventually lost in a unified heavyweight rematch with current champion Lesnar.
Mir has only one other loss of late, which came this past March at UFC 111.
It was another ” Lesnar style” thrashing, only this time from suspected steroid user Shane Carwin.
Mir has improved his skills immensely and can now be called somewhat well rounded.
Crocop, on the other hand, remains a one dimensional kick-boxer.
My prediction is an early referee stoppage victory from Mir. I feel that he has the advantage here wherever the fight should go.
Good luck to both fighters….
