In the latest released video to hype everyone for UFC 117, Chael Sonnen plays his usual character and continues to trash talk his opponent Anderson Silva. It seems at this point that Sonnen is just repeating himself, but somehow manages to keep everyone entertained.

I’m here of my own free will, Sonnen said. I’m here because I want to be. I’m here because I beat up everybody that got in my way. I beat every champion there has ever been except one and I’ve stuck my finger in his chest for four years and he wouldn’t fight me. He fought a one-legged Canadian, he fought a math teacher from Ohio, and he fought a bunch of guys that weren’t even good enough to hold their spot in the company. He fought everybody in the world that wasn’t named Chael Sonnen. Well, he does have to take that fight. His running is done, his fifteen minutes of fame are up and I’m gonna bring it to an abrupt halt.

…The next fight, between local hero Mark Serkez (8-3) and Mitch Whitesel (12-15), was a back-and-forth battle until the final bell. The first round was won by Serkez who got the better of the striking by switching up his stance and landing clean strikes that Whitesel did not seem to have an answer for. The crowd, already clearly behind Serkez, needed no additional reason to root against Whitesel. However, his frequent showboating, including wagging his finger at Sekerz during the first round, forced the crowd s volume even higher.
The second round was won by Whitesel who unlocked the mystery of Serkez’s stance by landing some devastating leg kicks, that clearly hurt Serkez. Serkez just could not seem to find an answer to Whitesel’s leg kicks. The final round appeared close and could have gone to anyone. Continuing his antics Whitelsel decided to raise his hands in victory with about ten seconds left in the round. The showboating had to have had many of the fans in attendance hoping for a slugfest finish, but…

The two scramble on the ground, and make it back to the feet before anyone can secure a position. Pellegrino recovers and lands a good right. Sotiropoulos seems to be beating Pellegrino to the punch. Pellegrino gets the takedwon, but again the fight gets back to the feet quickly. Sotiropoulos using great headmovement to avoid any solid strikes as he attacks. Pellegrino gets a takedown. Sotiropoulos from his back secures a tight guard. Pellegrino powers out and moves to half-guard, then full guard. The round closes well for Pellegrino, but Sotiropoulos takes it 10-9.
