…Cool stuff, but kinda pointless when you’re not using bars. I played without hud last year, and I play without it this year also. Haven’t submitted CPU yet. Not even once. And I always get submitted even in the 1st minute of the match. The new game is way different than the last year’s edition. I guess I need to check more videos that dude posted….

EA MMA is set to be released just over three months from now and while EA themselves have been tight-lipped about their creation as of late, the video game’s

…even today we still see positions and situations in real MMA matches that surprise the commentators. The A button (X on PS3) will allow you to try and improve position, and the opponent’s controller will rumble for a split second to let him know that he’s about to have something bad happen. If during that rumble he hits A, he’ll block the transition. But if you rain down some strikes while in the ground game, that makes his controller rumble as well, so he might be thrown off and try to do a poorly-timed grapple, and that’s your chance to either throw harder strikes, or sneak in your own grapple while his timing is off.
The blog does note that players who have old controllers without the ability to rumble could have a very rough time with the ground game if on-screen indicators are not added to the game. Overall it looks like it was another positive review of the EA MMA demo and we still think the video game will be able to compete with UFC 2010 right away this fall….

…I’ve already made my predictions for this Saturday’s UFC (not-so)Supercard, which you can check out here, but now I want to try something new. I have simulated all the matches I could with the roster presented to me in the latest installment of the UFC gaming franchise. Sadly I couldn’t do the Pellegrino fight due to George Sotiropoulos not being in the game, so here’s what I came up with

Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski
A stand up war to begin until Krzytof takes down Bonnar, who eventually gets up, and lands a head kick which put Krzysztof Soszynski on his back. Bonnar decides to let him up, which leads to a second takedown. The ground work isn’t really happening, so they get back up, and Krzysztof lands a big punch to even out the knockdowns. Before the first round ended Soszynski took down Bonnar a third time. Aside from a head kick, Stephen didn’t do much besides get dominated. Second round stars with Bonnar being taken down, and having his eye busted open with forarms from the top. Bonnar then…

…THQ Comments on Leaderboard Situation, Reset Still Planned

A THQ representative has finally made an official statement regarding the botched online ladder reset for UFC 2010 and has promised a proper reset is still in the near future.

According to THQ all online rankings and records were supposed to be reset at midnight on July 1st (presumably PST) but for unknown reasons the Xbox reset was completed incorrectly and the PS3 reset wasn’t carried out at all. THQ’s Tank says his company is not at fault as they are not capable of touching the UFC Undisputed ladders themselves.
We do not control the leaderboard reset directly. They are handled respectively by Microsoft and Sony. We have coordinated with them all week and unfortunately, the reset did not happen as promised and planned at Midnight last night.
All records are supposed to be reset to 0-0-0 for ranked play, as promised. We are unaware why this did not go as planned and have been looking in to this all day.
