Bellator being sued by UFC for trade secrets? | Caged Inside

Zuffa LLC, the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Extreme Cagefighting, has filed suit against Ken Pavia, one of the spo

…s most prominent fighter agents, alleging Pavia passed along trade secrets and confidential Zuffa documents to rival mixed martial arts promotion Bellator.

The suit alleges that Bellator used the documents to help run its business.
Pavia is the founder of MMA Agents and represents in excess of 50 fighters, more than 40 of whom are now or have been in the past under contract to Zuffa.
Bellator, which is a co-defendant, is a fledgling MMA promotional company that has earned rave reviews for the entertaining fights it made during its first two seasons, which were broadcast initially on ESPN Deportes and then on FOX Sports Net, among other networks.
According to the suit, filed Wednesday in Clark County District Court, Pavia delivered confidential contracts, including fighter agreements, to Bellator after being asked to do so in a July 4 email to him from Bellator founder Bjorn Rebney.
In a text message to Yahoo! Sports on Thursday, Pavia wrote…

…Well it looks as if the UFC Fan Expo has moved across the pond. After last July’s first ever fan expo, European fans have been badgering Dana White for a weekend of their own. It looks as if their persistence has paid off.

UFC Veteran Razak Al-Hassan Q and A

Razak Al-Hassan was nice enough to spend a few minutes with us for a little Question and Answer session.

…Going 0-2 normally means pink slip time in the UFC but from what I was told, they thought I had potential but needed to go back to the smaller circuit and work my way back up again. There are a lot of guys in the UFC who are in their second, even third run with the promotion so I was confident that if I put together a strong win streak I could get myself back on their radar again.
MMA Valor: Tell us about your upcoming fight with Demetrius Richards in Iowa on July 30th for Victory Fighting Championships.
Al-Hassan: I’m fighting for the first time in VFC against hometown guy Demetrius Richards. Demetrius has a pretty decent record. I don’t know him personally. He is just an obstacle in the way of where I want to go. I’m improving as a mixed martial artist with every bout, even my losses, and I don’t know if he can make the same claim. So…

Anderson Silva staying at middleweight | Caged Insider

With his upcoming middleweight bout against Chael Sonnen next weekend, Anderson Silva’s belt is on the line again. And after this bout, Silva says

…With his upcoming middleweight bout against Chael Sonnen next weekend, Anderson Silva’s belt is on the line again. And after this bout, Silva says he doesn’t plan to take on the champs from other weight classes as many fans have hoped for.
And Silva says no matter what’s thrown his way, he’s happy with where he’s at and plans to retire at middleweight.
I haven’t gotten bored, Silva stated on a UFC 117 media conference call. I like my sport, I like my weight division that I fight in, and I’m prepared to stay in my weight division.
Even though Silva has moved up to 205lbs. before, where did quite well defeating both Forrest Griffin as well as James Irvin, The Spider reiterates that he’s not planning on a change at all.
Many fans have discussed a super-fight between Silva and Georges St. Pierre, and although that is a tempting prospect, Silva wants to just focus on beating Chael Sonnen first.
What I’m really thinking about is the fight, my fight next week. I’m not really thinking much further than that,…

UFC champ Anderson Silva: I now want to retire at middleweig

http://mmajunkie.com/dyn/images/fighters/anderson-silva-17.jpg Forget light heavyweight, forget heavyweight, and especially forget welterweight; Anderson Silva says he wants to stick to middleweight. The UFC’s 185-pound champion today said that he plans to retire in the 185-pound class

…Man, where in the hell does this come from?? It wasn’t even long ago where several articles were released saying that Soares and Silva both said that they would love to fight at 205 and that there were plenty of great opponents. What happened to that? It seems like Silva gets bitter about certain things at times and holds grudges or something. Their camp both just said that he’d have no problems moving up and taking fights at LHW for over a year now. Dana should force him to fight at 205 though. Fighting anyone else at this point is useless and a waste. He’s cleared out that division and Vitor needs at least two fights before he’d be ready for Silva after this lay off….
